The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

We provide expertise in health risk assessments to enhance commander decision-making and health service capabilities. We survey work areas to protect the occupational health and safety of workers by identifying hazards and prescribing appropriate controls. This includes identifying dangerous chemicals, quantifying noise hazards, and ensuring sufficient ventilation. We monitor the water distribution system and air quality for the base; address cold and heat stress hazards due to weather or work conditions, and perform vulnerability assessments. Additionally, we have program oversight of radiation safety, respiratory protection, and hazardous communication for the installation. We work closely with Civil Engineering and Occupational Safety to support the confined space team, all-hazard response force, and reviews all work orders, chemical authorizations, and construction designs.
